Discussion in Cloning Technologies

As society is developing rapidly, technologies such as cloning has became more and more advanced. Cloning experiments started off with animals and later may be used among the general public. Whereas, the ethical and practical problems behind are a debatable topic being discussed. People holds different opinions toward the agreement of this procedure. This blog will seek the advantages of both sides, and ultimately maintain the position that human cloning ’s benefits outweigh the drawbacks.

To begin with, human cloning is essential for patients requiring transplant. It is easier to harvest organs for clones rather than waiting for donors. It is certain that in the area of organs transplant the supply can never meets the demand. It often takes years for patients to find a matched organ in order to cure the severe diseases, whereas under serious diseases the quicker patients can be treated, the higher the chances of living. In this case, if human clone can be put into use, the medical procedure can be done more effectively and increases patients’ chance of living.

Secondly, through human cloning, people without ability to give birth to children will be able to have their children. Every women should have the right to be mothers, their body constructions endow them with this ability. However, if they are deprived with the opportunity due to their own body conditions, they may felt sorry and depressed which causes mental problems. Through human cloning, those group of people will also be able to have children that shares the similar DNA with themselves.

Furthermore, cloning technology is helpful in solving genetic diseases. Cloning is simply the replication of DNA and has the opportunity to optimize problematic genes. Diseases such as liver failure and Leukemia can be solved easily through cloning technologies. The DNA of infants will be able to be checked before actually giving birth. This process minimizes the chances that people will be suffering from such kinds of disease that has great impact both on the patients themselves and their families.

On the other hand, someone may argue that clones are also humans, it is too harsh if they are used to devote themselves to help others. Conversely, being a human requires individuals to have feelings and experiences. Clones are not given that opportunity, in this case should not be treated as normal humans. They are born with the purpose of helping and devoting themselves to the medical field. They are aware of their purpose at the very initial of their lives so it can’t be count as inhumane.

To summarize, in my point of view I insist that human cloning has more advantages than disadvantages. This is not only because that human cloning has significant help in healthcare fields, but also its help in genetics areas.
